Zest Education are seeking a full-time Teacher of Music to join a Secondary School in the Dudley area. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering engaging music lessons to secondary school students. The school is part of a Multi-Academy Trust, which provides support and resources to enhance the learning experience. This is a full-time position due to start in May 2024. The role is expected to run for the rest of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and prepare exciting and challenging music lessons in line with the curriculum and national standards
– Deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, using a variety of teaching strategies and resources
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement in music activities
– Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them develop their musical skills
– Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate music events, performances, and extracurricular activities
– Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your own knowledge and skills as a music teacher
– Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive and collaborative learning community
– Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those relating to behaviour management, safeguarding, and health and safety

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience teaching music at the Secondary level
– Strong subject knowledge in music and a passion for sharing this with students
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
– Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual student needs
– Proven organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
– Flexibility, resilience, and a positive approach to teaching and learning

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
