Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (Full Time)

Location: Northfield
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term with potential for permanent placement

Zest Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Northfield to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant. The school is a supportive 2‑form entry setting, proud of its strong community links and commitment to providing an environment where every child can thrive.

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant to join the school’s specialist resource base, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a full-time position, running until at least the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right person.

About the Role

You will be working closely with small groups of children who have a variety of additional needs, including:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Physical disabilities
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting personalised learning activities
  • Helping to create a positive, nurturing and structured environment
  • Assisting the class teacher and SEN team in delivering targeted interventions
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in every child

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a relevant childcare or education qualification
  • Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Be available full time, consistently, until the end of the academic year
  • Be patient, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about working with children
