1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEND

Full Time | September Start
Moseley, Birmingham

Zest Education is working in partnership with a popular and well‑regarded primary school in Moseley, serving the Kings Heath area, to recruit a Full‑Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant starting in September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with high SEND needs, with a strong emphasis on behaviour management. The school is a valued part of the local community and is proud to be a multicultural setting, catering for pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and needs.

The Role:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting a pupil with high SEND needs
  • Implementing and maintaining effective behaviour management strategies
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support staff
  • Contributing positively to a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant childcare NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Be hard working, reliable and committed
  • Be a strong team player
  • Remain calm, patient and resilient, even in challenging or stressful situations
  • Have a nurturing and consistent approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
