Job Description

Are you a supportive, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a full‑time role starting immediately? A welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping children learn, build confidence and feel supported throughout the school day.

 

About the Role

You will be working across the classroom to support pupils with their learning, behaviour and emotional development. The role includes working with small groups, supporting whole‑class teaching and providing additional help to pupils with SEND who may need extra guidance or reassurance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils during lessons, group work and activities
  • Providing additional help to children with SEND or those needing extra support
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation and daily routines
  • Helping create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths activities
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils across different year groups
  • Reliability and commitment to full‑time, Monday–Friday work
  • SEND experience is desirable but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
