About the Role – Teaching Assistant (SEND)

In this full-time Teaching Assistant role, you will:

  • Support groups of high needs pupils across varying year groups
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to deliver tailored support
  • Assist with learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Provide personal care support where required
  • Help create a structured, safe, and nurturing learning environment
  • Adapt to the needs of pupils throughout the school day in a busy, dynamic setting

Ideal Candidate – Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is:

✅ Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
✅ Compassionate and passionate about supporting children with SEND
✅ Comfortable working with high needs pupils and varied behaviours
✅ Willing to assist with personal care duties
✅ A strong team player with excellent communication skills

Highly Advantageous (but not essential):

  • Experience with restraint training (e.g. Team Teach)
  • Experience using a hoist or moving and handling training
  • Previous work supporting children with complex or additional needs
