SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Qualified) – Full Time

Location: Alvechurch
Salary: £93.50 – £100 per day
Contract: Full Time, Monday to Friday

Are you a passionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within an outstanding early years environment?

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Level 3 qualified (or above) SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded First School in the Bromsgrove area. This full-time role will involve supporting a small group of Reception-aged children with varying Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, build confidence and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to a group of up to three Reception pupils with varying SEND needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver personalised support and interventions.
  • Help children access learning opportunities both within the classroom and through targeted activities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to discussions around support strategies.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Have proven experience supporting children within SEND settings.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of a range of special educational needs.
  • Be calm, patient and resilient when supporting children with additional needs.
  • Have a caring and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Be an excellent team player with strong communication skills.
  • Be proactive, adaptable and able to use their initiative.
  • Own transport would be advantageous due to the school’s location.
