Teaching Assistant

Job Description

A welcoming primary school in Leamington Spa is seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to join their supportive KS1 team. As a result, you’ll need to be adaptable, patient and proactive, especially when pupils require personalised activities or extra reassurance. Furthermore, previous experience in both classroom and SEND environments is preferred, as this helps ensure smooth transitions and effective learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support KS1 pupils through structured routines and adapted learning
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist with classroom learning across phonics, reading, writing and maths
  • Use positive behaviour strategies to promote regulation and engagement
  • Prepare resources, tidy learning spaces and help maintain an organised classroom
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant (essential)
  • Strong SEND experience
  • Confident supporting KS1 pupils
  • Full‑time availability
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach
  • Classroom and SEND experience preferred
