We’re recruiting for a grounded and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work on a long-term basis to start as soon as possible. The school is a busy 3 form entry primary, located in Bournville, Birmingham.  The school has a strong focus on inclusion and equality and aims to provide all children with essential life skills.

The successful candidate must:

  • Be NVQ level 2 qualified (in a relevant subject) or above
  • Be hard working and proficient in working in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a good understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Understand the importance of learning life skills from an early age
  • Be consistent in maintaining high standards
  • Be an approachable, reliable, and resourceful individual

Experience working with phonics and/or ‘Read Write Inc’ would be advantageous but is not essential. There is potential for this role to be made permanent for the right candidate.  The role will be working within the reception and Year 1 class, therefore previous experience within these year groups and knowledge of the above would be advantageous.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
