Are you passionate about working within education? Do you want to work within a fast paced and challenging environment?

We’re recruiting for a number of teaching assistant roles at a large primary school in Sheldon, Birmingham.  We’re looking for versatile individuals who can adapt to the needs of students, work well as part of a team and have a good understanding of learning life skills from an early age.

Both roles will be full time and will vary between working within small groups to help with the current catch up system within schools and working on a 1-1 basis to support children who need individual support, as and when required.

The successful candidates must:

  • Be engaging, approachable and adaptable
  • Be passionate about education and working with children
  • Have excellent curriculum knowledge
  • Demonstrate the highest regard for safeguarding and the wellbeing of all children
  • Be a strong team player and excellent communicator
  • Be proficient in literacy, numeracy, and ICT

The roles will be full time, and there is potential for these roles to be made permanent for the right candidates.

If you have previous experience working with phonics and ‘Read Write inc’ then this would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
