Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently in urgent need of a teaching assistant for an ongoing position at a secondary school in the Stoke on Trent area. This full-time role is set to commence in September 2024 and will continue throughout the academic year.

Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a crucial role within the teaching team, particularly in secondary schools, requiring availability from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

We collaborate with numerous schools in Stoke on Trent and Shropshire, encompassing areas such as Newcastle under Lyme, Hanley, Trentham, Stone, Newport, Market Drayton, and Telford.

The school boasts academic excellence and sets high standards for its staff. Students receive substantial academic support, enabling them to excel academically and socially through dynamic and interactive lessons.

The position entails working individually with students and in small groups, necessitating flexibility across all age brackets due to the student demographic.

Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field or possess at least 3 months of recent experience within the past 5 years. The ideal candidate should be proactive, dynamic, and dedicated to fostering student engagement, inspiring confidence and independence.

If you are interested in this opportunity or require further details, please contact Ellie at ellie@zesteducation.co.uk or click on ‘apply for job’ at the top of the page to submit your information.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
