Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rugeley, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity that will run through to the end of 2025, with potential to continue beyond this point.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting both the class teacher and pupils to create a positive and productive learning experience. This may include working with children 1:1, in small groups, or providing general classroom support across the primary year groups.

Duties will include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Helping to prepare classroom materials and resources

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

  • Assisting with reading, phonics, and numeracy interventions

  • Working closely with SEN pupils when required

  • Supporting the social and emotional development of students


About You – The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a passionate and reliable individual who has previous experience working with children in an educational setting.

Essential:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children

  • A genuine passion for education and child development

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

Preferred:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with children with additional needs (SEN)

  • A current, enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
