Job Description

Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Tamworth

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Tamworth area, and we are currently looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and helping pupils reach their full potential. You will work with students aged 11–16, providing one-to-one support as well as small group interventions, both in and outside of the classroom.

This role is ideal for individuals who are considering a future in education or for experienced TAs looking to continue their development in a supportive and dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons

  • Work with pupils who require additional support with learning

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

  • Support students with behavioural or emotional needs where required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is preferred (school-based or otherwise)

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A proactive and patient attitude

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
