Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We’re working on behalf of a highly regarded primary school in the Bournville area to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception pupil who is non-verbal and requires low engagement, consistent support throughout the school day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing 1:1 support to a Reception-aged child with communication needs
  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
  • Using non-verbal communication strategies and visual aids
  • Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Encouraging emotional regulation, independence, and confidence

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare, Education, or a related field
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in an EYFS setting
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education
