Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ASD and Behavioural Support) – Rednal

Location: Rednal, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, mornings only (until 1:15pm)
Start date: Immediate
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Bournville area. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ASD and behavioural support) to join their dedicated team and make a real difference in a child’s learning journey.


About the Role

This part-time role is ideal for someone looking for consistent hours while having a positive impact. As a Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – ASD and behavioural support), you will work closely with the class teacher to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your role will involve providing structure, patience, and a nurturing presence to help manage behaviour and maintain focus throughout the morning.

The child responds best to calm, consistent, and reliable adults who can offer a firm but supportive approach. Building trust and rapport will be essential to helping them thrive in the classroom.


Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a relevant childcare qualification
  • Previous experience working with children with ASD or additional needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient nature
  • Commitment to the full duration of the role
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
