The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and caring Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join this friendly school from November 2025. The position will continue until the end of the half term, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to enhance learning experiences and maintain an engaging classroom environment.

  • Support small groups and individual pupils to reinforce key learning objectives and promote progress.

  • Assist in preparing teaching materials, classroom displays, and learning resources.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and ensure all pupils feel valued and included.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support every child’s development.


The Ideal Candidate

To thrive in this role, you should be:

  • Level 3 qualified (preferred) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent qualification.

  • Experienced in working with children

  • Passionate about education and enthusiastic about helping children achieve their best.

  • Confident in providing focused support in Maths and English.

  • Patient, adaptable, and able to manage different learning needs effectively.

  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team and shows initiative when needed.
