Job Description

A welcoming school now seeks a committed Teaching Assistant for a full‑time role, Monday to Friday. You support the class teacher, guide pupils through daily tasks and help maintain a calm, structured learning environment. Moreover, you bring strong SEND experience and ideally hold a recognised TA qualification. As a result, you provide confident support for pupils who need additional guidance. Furthermore, you use clear routines and positive communication to help learners stay focused, regulated and ready to progress. In addition, you adapt activities when needed and encourage independence throughout the school day.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general classroom support across lessons and wider school routines
  • Deliver 1:1 and small‑group activities that reinforce key skills
  • Use clear routines to promote consistency and reduce anxiety
  • Adapt learning tasks for pupils needing additional help
  • Support positive behaviour approaches through calm, direct communication
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENCO to maintain consistent provision
  • Encourage independence, confidence and steady progress throughout the day

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally qualified Teaching Assistant
  • Strong SEND experience, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
  • Clear communication and a patient, supportive approach
  • Confidence adapting tasks and supporting pupils with varied needs
  • Full‑time availability, Monday to Friday
  • Interest in primary SEND roles
