About the Role

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to join our partner school. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual who thrives in a classroom environment and is eager to make a difference in students’ learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted support, help maintain a positive learning environment, and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher to aid assessment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist with record keeping and administrative duties as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting (primary, secondary, or SEND).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A valid DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional needs.
  • Knowledge of EYFS, KS1, KS2, or KS3/4 curriculum (depending on setting).
  • Ability to use a range of classroom support strategies and resources.
  • Confidence in using ICT and supporting learning through technology.
