Teaching Assistant – Primary

About the role

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Bedworth is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children learn, grow and feel confident in the classroom.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the school day, helping with learning activities, behaviour support and general classroom organisation. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, patient and able to build positive relationships with young learners.

Requirements

• Experience working in a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of classroom routines and expectations
• SEND experience or strong SEND awareness is desirable
• Ability to support pupils 1:1, in small groups and across the whole class
• Confident assisting with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Day‑to‑day duties

• Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
• Providing targeted support to pupils who need additional help
• Assisting with small‑group interventions and guided learning
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and emotionally regulated
• Supporting behaviour using positive, consistent strategies
• Preparing resources and helping maintain an organised classroom environment
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
