£88.92 – £95 per day (PAYE) 

Zest Education are proud to be working with a fantastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Wandsworth area, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. These positions are full-time and available to start immediately or in September 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly supportive and specialist environment that caters for pupils aged 10 to 19 with a range of communication needs. The school supports students who are D/deaf and/or have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). Many pupils also have additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), motor difficulties, visual impairment, and social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The school is committed to ensuring that every pupil reaches their full potential by delivering a student-centred, Total Communication approach to language development. This includes the use of British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English (SSE), spoken and written English, as well as visual and kinaesthetic learning strategies.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)

  • Be patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

  • Have an interest in or willingness to learn BSL and other communication strategies

  • Be a team player, willing to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
