Teaching Assistant – Year 1 (SEMH & ASD)
Location: North/Northwest London
Pay: £90 – £100 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Immediately or with notice
Contract: Temp-to-perm with full training provided
Zest Education is working with a specialist SEN school in North/Northwest London that supports students aged 7 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work full-time with a small Year 1 class, starting as soon as possible.
Providing 1:1 and small group support to Year 1 pupils with complex emotional needs
Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model for pupils
Supporting pupils in managing their emotions and engaging with learning
Collaborating with class teachers, therapists and wider school staff to ensure the best outcomes
A patient, caring and consistent individual who can bring calm and structure to the classroom
Experience working with children is beneficial, but not essential – we welcome transferable skills from roles in youth work, care, or support services
A strong desire to help young people grow in confidence and independence
Full-time availability and a long-term commitment to the role
A supportive school environment with full training and induction

Daily pay of £90 – £100, paid weekly

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
