The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join the Key Stage 2 team. In this role, you will work alongside the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning experiences, assist with daily classroom activities, and help create an engaging and supportive environment.

You will also have the chance to deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions, helping pupils reach their full potential and build confidence in their abilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Year 4 teacher in delivering engaging lessons and managing the classroom effectively

  • Encourage pupils to understand learning objectives and stay focused during lessons

  • Prepare creative learning materials and eye-catching classroom displays

  • Lead small-group or individual learning sessions when required

  • Track and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the class teacher

  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure all pupils feel safe and supported

The Ideal Candidate

We’re seeking a motivated, caring, and proactive individual who enjoys working with children and takes pride in supporting their learning journey.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – preferred

  • Previous experience working with children

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff alike

  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for helping children succeed

  • Strong organisational skills and the confidence to use your initiative
