Year 5 Teaching Assistant (Cannock)
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
Start Date: December 2025
Duration: Until the end of the half term, with the possibility of extension into the new year
Zest Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cannock that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 class from December 2025. As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and pupils to ensure every child can reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils.
Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions.
Supporting pupils with varying learning needs to stay engaged and motivated.
Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Contributing to the overall school community and upholding its values.
The successful candidate will:
Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Have previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable in their approach.
Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when required.
Show a genuine passion for supporting children’s education and wellbeing.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
