Year 5 Teaching Assistant (Cannock)

Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
Start Date: December 2025
Duration: Until the end of the half term, with the possibility of extension into the new year

Zest Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cannock that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 class from December 2025. About the Role

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and pupils to ensure every child can reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils.

  • Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions.

  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs to stay engaged and motivated.

  • Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Contributing to the overall school community and upholding its values.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Have previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable in their approach.

  • Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when required.

  • Show a genuine passion for supporting children’s education and wellbeing.
