Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Tamworth
Start Date: October 2025
Location: Tamworth
Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school located in Tamworth. The school is currently looking for a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team from October until the end of the Autumn term, with the possibility of extension.
This vibrant Tamworth primary school is known for its inclusive values, nurturing environment, and strong focus on academic progress and pupil wellbeing. With supportive leadership and a collaborative staff team, it’s an ideal setting for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners. The school is well-resourced and places a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional development, and fostering a positive learning environment.
You will be supporting a Year 6 class, providing both 1:1 and small group assistance, as well as in-class support under the guidance of the class teacher. As the class prepares for secondary transition and end-of-key-stage assessments, your role will be vital in helping pupils stay engaged, supported, and on track. You will play a key part in classroom routines, pupil progress, and maintaining a safe, stimulating atmosphere.
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – preferred
Recent and relevant experience working in a primary school
Confident in supporting literacy and numeracy interventions
Able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and independently when required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, adaptable, and proactive in managing classroom behaviour
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
