Year 1 Teacher

A warm and welcoming primary school in Rugby is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who can create an engaging, structured and nurturing learning environment for early learners. You’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality lessons, supporting pupils’ development and working closely with the KS1 team to ensure every child feels confident and supported.

What the school is looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
• Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons
• A warm, patient and creative teaching style
• Excellent communication and classroom‑management skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Key responsibilities

• Teaching a Year 1 class full‑time
• Planning and delivering high‑quality lessons
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Working collaboratively with the KS1 team and leadership
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
