Year 1 Teacher

A welcoming and well‑established primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis. This role is ideal for a passionate and creative teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, support early learning development and create a nurturing environment where children feel confident, valued and excited to learn.

You will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, working closely with the leadership team and support staff to ensure pupils make strong progress across the curriculum.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
• Strong understanding of early learning and phonics
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Excellent communication and classroom‑management skills
• A warm, enthusiastic and child‑centred approach
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Role Responsibilities

• Leading a Year 1 class and delivering high‑quality lessons
• Supporting early reading, writing and phonics development
• Creating a positive, structured and engaging classroom environment
• Working collaboratively with support staff and the wider team
• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
• Building strong relationships with pupils and families
