Year 1 Teacher (Job Share) – Part-Time

Rubery | Thursdays & Fridays | September Start | Until Christmas 2026

Zest Education is looking to appoint a Year 1 Teacher for a part-time job share role in Rubery. This opportunity is available every Thursday and Friday, starting in September and continuing until Christmas 2026.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to gain valuable Key Stage 1 experience within a supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Teaching a Year 1 class as part of a job share arrangement.
  • Working every Thursday and Friday.
  • Planning, teaching and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Creating an engaging and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Have a good understanding of the Year 1 curriculum.
  • Be passionate about helping children reach their potential.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
  • Be organised, reliable and professional.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
