Year 2 Class Teacher (KS1 – SATs Preparation) – Full-Time

Location: , Edgbaston, Birmingham
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Academic Year (Full-Time)
Salary: Competitive / Paid to Scale

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Year 2 Class Teacher to join a welcoming and well-established primary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time teaching role for the entire academic year starting September 2026, and the school is keen to secure a teacher who can commit for the full duration.

This opportunity is particularly suited to experienced KS1 teachers, due to the importance of SATs preparation in Year 2, and offers the chance to make a real impact on pupil progress and attainment.


About the Role

  • Full class responsibility for a Year 2 (KS1) class
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Effectively prepare pupils for KS1 SATs assessments
  • Track, assess, and support pupil progress to achieve strong outcomes
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and friendly staff team

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is committed, engaging, creative and fun, bringing energy and enthusiasm into the classroom every day. You will be approachable and a strong team player, able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents alike.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of SATs preparation and assessment
  • Be confident in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Show commitment to the full academic year and the success of their class
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and proactive approach to teaching

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Significant experience within Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
