Year 4 Teacher

Job Description

A specialist SEND school in Coventry is seeking a committed and experienced Year 4 Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including complex learning difficulties, communication needs and social‑emotional challenges.

You will lead a small Year 4 class, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet pupils where they are and help them progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working in a SEND school or specialist provision
  • Confident adapting lessons for pupils with diverse needs
  • Strong behaviour‑support and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Leading a Year 4 class within a SEND setting
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and independence
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists
  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
