Year 5 Teacher – Full Time (Long‑Term)

The role:

Zest Education is recruiting for an exciting long‑term opportunity at a thriving two‑form entry primary school in Kings Heath for a Year 5 teacher. This busy and vibrant school is known for its strong sense of community, supportive staff team and commitment to providing high‑quality education for all pupils. Although the setting can be challenging at times, it offers an incredibly rewarding teaching environment where experienced practitioners can make a genuine impact.

We are seeking a confident and skilled Year 5 Teacher who can bring stability, structure and high expectations to a demanding upper Key Stage 2 class. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who thrives in busy classrooms, enjoys building strong relationships and feels confident supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with high levels of SEND or behavioural challenges. You will be responsible for full planning, teaching and assessment, and must be someone who can commit fully to the class and the wider school community.

The successful candidate will be reliable, resilient and consistent, with a strong presence and excellent behaviour management skills. This is a full‑time position starting as soon as possible and offered on an ongoing, long‑term basis. Salary is paid to scale depending on your experience.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
