Year 6 Teacher Job in Kings Heath – Overview

Zest Education is currently recruiting for an experienced Year 6 Teacher (Key Stage 2) to join a thriving and supportive primary school in Kings Heath, Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident KS2 teacher looking to make a real impact in a crucial stage of primary education. The successful candidate will lead a Year 6 class, supporting pupils through SATs preparation and transition to secondary school while delivering high-quality and engaging lessons.


Key Responsibilities – Year 6 Teacher

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver a broad and balanced KS2 curriculum tailored to Year 6 pupils
  • Prepare students for SATs through targeted teaching and interventions
  • Use assessment data to track progress and inform lesson planning
  • Maintain strong classroom behaviour management in a busy environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including meetings and enrichment activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 6 preferred)
  • Ability to raise attainment and deliver engaging lessons
  • Strong behaviour management strategies
  • A confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic teaching approach
