Job Description

Are you an experienced SEND Teacher looking for a new opportunity in Erdington? Zest Education is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a team at a wonderful school in Erdington.

As an SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in their educational journey. We are specifically looking for someone with experience working with students on the autism spectrum (ASC), as this school caters to students with ASC needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with ASC students and a deep understanding of their unique needs. You should be equipped with effective strategies to engage and motivate students, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of ASC students with SEMH needs
– Implement strategies to support the social and emotional development of students
– Differentiate instruction to cater to individual learning styles and abilities
– Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to ensure their academic and personal growth
– Establish effective communication channels with parents and guardians to ensure a cohesive partnership between home and school

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
– Experience working with ASC students with SEMH needs
– Strong knowledge of ASC and SEMH strategies and interventions
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
– A positive and empathetic mindset
