Full-time Teaching Assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Derby. This opportunity is to start ASAP and will be on going until the end of the academic year.

This is a specialist independent school for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of high functioning Autism (ASC). The school caters for students from the age of 5-19.

The school has been specifically designed to address the needs of children and young people with ASC and its environment provides the security, structure and predictability in which they can learn and grow towards becoming increasingly more independent.

The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups.

The role:

• You must have experience supporting individuals with SEND
• Have knowledge, professional or personal experience of Autism (ASC)
• Must have the ability to inspire pupils, helping them achieve their personal best and encourage a love of learning
• Must be adaptable as you will be working with a variety of age groups
• You will be assisting students with their educational and social development, on an individual and group basis
• Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
