SEND Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is currently looking for a full-time teaching assistant to work within an outstanding SEND school in Coventry. This position is set to start as soon as possible for the right candidate and will continue for the remainder of the academic year.

This school caters for children from the age of four to sixteen with complex social and communication difficulties, with many of the students having a diagnosis of autism. The school’s aim is to create a supportive learning environment where each student can reach their full academic and personal potential.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working alongside individuals with SEND and will be able to build positive relationships with both colleagues and students.

The Role:

• Implementing positive behavior management strategies and de-escalating any challenges with a calm approach.
• Working alongside the class teacher, preparing classroom resources, and keeping the classroom a clean and safe place to work.
• Use your previous knowledge and understanding of SEND to make a positive difference in pupils’ lives.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
