Art Teacher

Job Description

Are you passionate about art and photography? Do you have experience working with young people who are at risk of social exclusion due to disorders or social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties? We have an exciting role available for an Art and Photography Teacher within an amazing SEND school, starting ASAP!

This school is an alternative to mainstream education, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young people aged 11-19. They aim to empower our students and help them develop their creative talents while overcoming challenges they may face.

As an Art and Photography Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students through a wide range of artistic mediums. Your main responsibilities will include:

– Providing individualized support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs
– Creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and personal growth
– Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to develop a holistic approach to education
– Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
– Organizing and participating in art exhibitions and photography showcases to celebrate student achievements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in art and photography, as well as experience working with young people who have co-morbidity of disorders or social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Additionally, you should be patient, compassionate, and have excellent communication skills.

Requirements:

– Knowledge of SEND teaching strategies and differentiation techniques
– Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
– Strong organizational and time management skills
