SEND Teacher

Job Description

Are you a dedicated SEND teacher seeking a new opportunity in Redditch? Look no further! We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEND teacher to join our community feel school. This role is set to start as soon as possible and has the potential to become permanent for the right person.

As an SEND teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting and educating students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with the school’s SENCO and other professionals to create and implement tailored learning plans that meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:
– Delivering high-quality lessons and adapting teaching methods to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students with SEND
– Collaborating with other teachers, support staff, and parents to provide a holistic approach to education
– Employing various teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to enhance engagement and understanding
– Assessing and monitoring students’ progress regularly, providing constructive feedback, and implementing necessary interventions
– Promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, and personal growth

Requirements:
– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience working with students with SEND, preferably within a school setting
– A strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, including knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEND

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
