Zest Education are currently recruiting for a Biology Teacher to join the science department in a secondary school that we work with in the Kings Norton area. The school was rated ‘Outstanding’ in its last OFSTED report.
This is a full time position to start in January 2024 until March 2024, with the potential to be extended until July 2024. Rate of pay will vary depending on experience from £153 – £211 per day.
Responsibilities:
– Teach Biology to students in KS3 – KS5, following the school’s curriculum.
– Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of the students.
– Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
– Monitor and manage student behaviour in the classroom, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Keep accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and any other relevant information.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental initiatives and strategies.
– Attend departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.
– Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance to a group of students.
– Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall wellbeing and success of the students.
Requirements:
– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Relevant degree in Biology or a related subject.
– Experience teaching Biology to secondary school students.
– Strong knowledge of the KS3 – KS5 Biology curriculum.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to engage and inspire students in the subject.
– Organized and able to manage time effectively.
– A commitment to continuous professional development.
