Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a reputable special educational needs school located in Burntwood.

 Position: Learning Support Assistant

 Location: Burntwood, United Kingdom

 Type: Full-time, long-term basis

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students aged 7-13 years with SEMH needs, providing them with the necessary support and guidance
  • Display a calm and interactive approach to motivate and engage students during lessons
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students can fully participate in activities
  • Assist in personalized educational plans for individual students, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Build and maintain respectful and considerate relationships with students, promoting their overall well-being
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the effective implementation of support strategies

 Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals (children or adults) with special educational needs is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children with SEMH needs
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with students displaying challenging behaviour’s
  • A commitment to promoting a safe and nurturing learning environment
