Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students who are at risk of social exclusion due to various disorders or social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties? Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistant to join a special educational needs school located in Nuneaton.

There are both full time and part time opportunities available for an immediate start.

The school believe in empowering students to unlock their full potential and contribute positively to both the curriculum and the wider community. As a Classroom Support Assistant, your role will be crucial in achieving this mission. You will have the opportunity to encourage and motivate students to actively participate in classroom activities and social interactions, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence.

Building strong relationships with the students is essential. You will act as a role model, showing empathy and understanding towards their individual needs. By validating their feelings and experiences, you will help create a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive.

We believe that every member of our staff plays a vital role in the overall running of the school. Therefore, as a Classroom Support Assistant, you will also be expected to be a positive role model for our students both inside and outside the classroom. By promoting positive behaviour and effectively managing any challenging situations, you will ensure that the progress of all students is maintained.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for individuals who possess the following essential skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to understanding and supporting the needs of students with diverse challenges.
  • The ability to establish and maintain boundaries while building trusting relationships with students.
  • Adaptability and resilience in managing unexpected situations or behaviours.
  • Excellent organizational skills to assist in the planning and coordination of classroom activities.
  • A collaborative mindset, working effectively as part of a team alongside teachers and other support staff.
  • Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and the strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Flexibility to adjust support techniques based on individual student requirements.
  • Enthusiasm for creating inclusive learning environments that promote student engagement and participation.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students.

Please note that a relevant qualification or prior experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
