Classroom support assistant

Zest Education are working with a large primary school in Solihull a support assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with a child in their Year 1 class. The role will involve supporting a child with ADHD and behaviour issues who requires additional support throughout the day.

The successful classroom assistant must:

• Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject
• Have a good understanding of the national curriculum
• Be an engaging and professional individual
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of SEND needs
• Have a calm and approachable manner
• Understand the importance of their role in supporting children with additional needs

What the role will involve:

• Supporting individual children to ensure they have access to an engaging and inspiring curriculum
• Providing children with a supportive learning environment
• Assisting with general classroom assistant duties (preparing resources, assisting the class teacher etc)
• Working as part of a strong team to ensure all children learn and grow
