Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a full-time teacher to join a well reputable primary Special Educational Needs (SEND) school located in Cannock.

The school cater for children aged 3-11 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and require additional support. As a teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored education and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum, considering the individual needs of each student.

– Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to participate.

– Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, setting clear goals and monitoring progress.

– Collaborate with other professionals, including teaching assistants and therapists, to provide holistic support to students.

– Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

– Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behaviour, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.

 

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with children with Autism and associated needs is desirable.

– Knowledge of strategies and interventions specifically designed for students with ASC.

– Ability to adapt and differentiate teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.

– Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.

This is a full-time position starting in January 2024, and it will continue on a long-term basis for the entire academic year.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
