Computer Science Teacher, South Birmingham

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Computer Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Bordesley Green that we closely work with. This full-time position requires teaching computer science to students at KS3 through to KS5 levels.

Please note that planning and marking will be required as part of this role. The position is temporary, starting in January 2024 and ending in July 2024.

Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in line with the national curriculum for computer science.
– Plan and prepare lesson materials, resources, and assessments.
– Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
– Create and implement effective classroom management strategies.
– Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
– Stay up to date with the latest advancements and developments in the field of computer science.
– Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff members to ensure the smooth running of the computer science department.
– Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Experience in teaching computer science at KS3 – KS5 levels.
– Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for computer science.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Organized and able to effectively plan and manage workload.
– Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Proficient in using technology and computer software relevant to the subject.
– Passionate about computer science and dedicated to fostering students’ interest in the subject.
