Teaching Assistant – Hagley

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a team at a school in Hagley. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start available.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with students aged between 5-18 who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for someone who has previous experience working with ASC and can provide a wonderful school experience for these students.

Working in a collaborative environment, you will be part of a great team atmosphere where your contribution will make a real difference in the lives of these students. Your role will involve providing support and guidance to students, assisting with their individual learning plans, and promoting their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting students with ASC and SEMH needs in their day-to-day activities
– Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
– Encouraging social interaction and promoting positive behaviour
– Providing one-on-one support to students as required
– Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with students with ASC is essential
– A passion for helping students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Patience, empathy, and understanding
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
