We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join a secondary school that we closely work with in the Edgbaston area. As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, planning and marking student work.
Responsibilities:
– Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons to a range of secondary school students
– Create and implement schemes of work and lesson plans
– Assess and mark students’ work, providing constructive feedback
– Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement
– Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources
– Communicate with parents and carers regarding student progress and achievements
– Attend staff meetings and contribute to the school’s wider curriculum development
Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
– Relevant degree in Geography or a related subject
– Strong knowledge and understanding of the Geography curriculum
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to inspire and engage students in the subject
– Organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
– Experience in delivering successful Geography lessons
– A commitment to continued professional development
Contract Details:
This full-time role is to start in January 2024 and will continue until July 2024. Planning and marking will be required as part of the role. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary in line with their qualifications and experience.
