Teacher of Computer Science

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a Teacher of Computer Science to join a secondary school in the Coventry area. The school is known for its high standards and commitment to providing a fantastic learning environment for students. As a computer science teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with newly updated computer equipment, providing students with the tools they need to excel in this rapidly evolving field. The school are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who can inspire our students to harness their creativity and problem-solving skills through computer science. This is a full-time role due to commence in September 2025.

Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver computer science lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum
– Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote active learning
– Assess and provide feedback on student progress
– Monitor and manage student behaviour in the classroom
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the computer science curriculum
– Keep up-to-date with developments in computer science and incorporate new technologies into lessons
– Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities and events

Requirements:

– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications
– Experience teaching computer science at the secondary level preferred
– Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and programming languages
– Ability to create engaging lesson plans and deliver effective instruction
– Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
