Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teacher to join a team at a reputable school in Bromsgrove. We are looking for a passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role:
As an SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a small class of students with SEMH needs, with class sizes ranging from 4 to 5 students. The students’ ages will vary between 11 and 18, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with a supportive staff team.

Key Responsibilities:
– Effectively deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes personal growth and academic progress
– Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles
– Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
– Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and their families
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, achievements, and behaviour

Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable
– Excellent understanding of SEMH and relevant teaching strategies
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
