SEND Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about working in the education sector and looking for a role supporting students? Zest is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a school in Erdington to start as soon as possible for the remainder of the academic year.

This school caters or students between the ages 4yo to 11yo with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) to severe learning difficulties (SLD). The ideal SEND Learning Support Assistant will ideally have experience in similar role previously or demonstrate transferrable skills suited to the role.

Responsibilities of the SEND Learning Support Assistant role:

• Adapting and modifying classroom materials to suit the learning styles and abilities of the students
• Supporting the inclusion of students with learning difficulties in mainstream classroom activities
• Encouraging student participation and engagement in class activities
• Providing personal care assistance when necessary

Requirements of the SEND Learning Support Assistant role:

• Previous experience working with students with moderate to severe learning difficulties is preferred
• Patience and a calm demeanour when working with students who may require additional support
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
