Full-time, Teaching Assistant

Full-time Teaching Assistant, Stoke-on-Trent.

We are currently looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant for a special educational needs school located in Stoke-on-Trent. This position is due to begin September 2022 and will continue for the full academic year. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

This school caters for children from the age of five to seventeen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a similar setting.

The chosen candidate will work across a range of age groups supporting the class teacher on a general basis, however there may be times you are required to work on a 1:1 basis with specific pupils or smaller groups. The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups.

• You must be able to demonstrate that you are keen to learn, have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• You need to be committed to providing the children with exceptional learning and support, in a fun and caring classroom environment and be willing to go that extra mile
• You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
