Year 4 Classroom Assistant – Full Time

Zest Education are working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school located on the scenic outskirts of Selly Oak.

Zest are seeking a passionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant to join a Year 4 class and become an integral part of the supportive team, the role is due to start in September 2024.

As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and helping to create a positive and effective learning environment. You will assist with the day-to-day activities in the classroom, support individual and small group learning, and help manage classroom behaviour to ensure a productive and safe educational experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Year 4 class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Provide support to individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Help prepare classroom materials and resources.
• Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans for students with special educational needs.
• Supervise students during class activities, break times, and on school trips.
• Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor and manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and maintaining student files.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• A passion for education and a genuine interest in supporting the development of young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A relevant qualification in childcare or education (desirable but not essential).

Pay to start from £75 per day based on references and experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
