We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Telford. The school are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant who can commit to 3 days a week. This position is due to begin ASAP and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. This school caters for children from the age of five to thirteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with individuals with special educational needs and is confident with their behaviour management.

This schools aim is to reduce the numbers of pupils who are Permanently Excluded from school by offering mainstream schools an alternative provision as an assessment and intervention. We offer a range of interventions so students can be supported, either within their mainstream school or at one of our provisions.

The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

• You must have previous experience working with individuals with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties and confident with your behaviour management
• Passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face
• You will be working with students on a one-to-one basis as well as small groups, so you must be adaptable
