Teaching Assistant – SEND

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school in Coventry. This fulfilling role is set to commence in September 2024 and offers a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The school caters to children aged 3 to 11 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), providing a supportive and nurturing environment for their educational journey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere where every student can thrive.

 

 Responsibilities:

– Provide exceptional classroom support to students, addressing their individual needs and facilitating their progress.

– Assist in organising and preparing classroom materials, ensuring a conducive learning environment that inspires curiosity and growth.

– Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and conduct regular assessments to track students’ development.

– Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a harmonious and inclusive school community.

– Maintain a vigilant approach to safeguarding, prioritising the well-being and safety of all students at all times.

 

 Requirements:

– Prior experience in working with special educational needs is advantageous.

– Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.

– A genuine passion for facilitating children’s learning and holistic development.

– Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
